Located between Berck-sur-Mer, Fort-Mahon, and very close to Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, this bay is home to one of the largest colonies of common seals and grey seals in France. At low tide, these marine mammals bask on the sandbanks, offering a rare and moving spectacle to observe with the family. Authie Bay<\/a> is a remarkable natural site, classified and protected for its unique biodiversity<\/strong>. It offers a mosaic of environments \u2013 dunes, mudflats, salt meadows \u2013 which constitute a refuge for exceptional wildlife. Besides seals, a multitude of seabirds, migratory birds, and waders can be observed there. This small wild paradise can be explored gently, respecting its fragile balance. By walking its trails, you will understand why this bay is one of the jewels of the Opal Coast<\/strong>, just like the splendid Somme Bay<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How to see the seals?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

To observe the seals safely, go at low tide<\/strong> from the northern esplanade of Berck-sur-Mer. A marked trail<\/strong> leads you to the observation areas. It’s ideal to bring binoculars or a camera with a zoom lens. Guided tours with naturalist guides<\/strong> are also offered to learn more about their behavior and habitat. Be careful to always keep a distance of at least 300 meters<\/strong> so as not to disturb them. A great lesson in respect for nature<\/strong> to experience with the family! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
